Real Madrid ran out as a winner against Roma. I knew Roma might muster up a challenge but I knew Real Madrid would win this tie. Bale could have fired Madrid ahead but he missed just by inches, not also taking into account the cross bar he hit but he redeemed himself with a beautiful goal after a brilliant run in, after being played in, to score the second goal, after Isco put them ahead with a delightful free kick; talking of not missing Ronaldo. The goal I enjoyed the most was that of Diaz, it was a beautifully curled effort, and expertly taken. I enjoyed it and the match ended 3-0.

Shakhtar Donetsk drew with Hoffenheim 2-2. Hoffenheim went ahead twice but were pegged back every time and Shakhtar almost took the lead for the first time if not for a timely intervention by the defense line.

The other real shocker came when Valencia hosted Juventus when Ronaldo visited Spain again, but he left in Pain. This isn’t about the score line but about his untimely demise in the 29th minute with a red card. It was an off the ball incident and the referee thought it was worthy of a red card after he consulted with his lineman. Ronaldo left the pitch in tears amidst disbelief while still pleading his innocence. Juventus ran out 2-0 as the winner on the night with two penalties as Pjanic took them. Ronaldo will miss the tie with Young Boys but with an extended ban, he might miss the double header with Manchester United.

Viktoria Plzen drew 2-2 with CSKA Moskva, while Manchester United also ran out as 3-0 winner on the night against Young Boys. Young Boys threatened early on with long range strikes that David De Gea was equally up to, but Manchester United showed their class when Pogba scored a beautiful goal, before following it up with a penalty, which he expertly converted. It was a French affair as Tony Martial also added gloss to the score line to make it 3-0 to the delight of Jose Mourinho.

Juan Mata would have scored a fourth but he missed just by inches.

What is your take on Ronaldo’s red card?

Thank you for your time.
