RE: The (not so) Beautiful Game (anymore)

in #football6 years ago (edited)

I'm not agree with you (at least not in all).
I love football, although I'm not fan of any club I like watch so fantastic sport, i choose a team and just follow the game.
And yes, FiFa and UEFA are corrupted, Concacaf, Comebol and others as well. But where is the problem? Organizations? Teams?
I'm agree if they ern money (clubs, no any organization), and transfers are good for competition even. But the problem is on people, who admit fails/ errors/ injustices just because is convenient. A foul, a penalty, a goal, is wrong just if is against them; a player is a traitor if he leaves but not if they make they leave another club... Hypocrites! !
Is there the problem.
Qatar also have the rights to participate @wolfje, even in a desert, even if they are small, whatever, if not, what's next? Don't leave Bolivia play in La Paz, don't leave to play in countries with snow? Conditions are part of the game, and players should to learn to manage it; so, is unfair that point.
(A hate cooling breaks by the way)

What is true: a professional league, they makeup their league. And Qatar have been buying players offering money to stay and play for Qatar.
And Qatar and their "Jeques" make that, not the clubs. Where is the fair play FiFa?
Have Qatar ever participated in a World Cup??
There is/was a rule that says/said you can be host just if you have been before. Where is that rule now, because South Korea needed for 2002.
....i don't want to talk about human rights, yeah the money can be used better, but CorruptFifa don't care; the famous "Fair Play " is just a slogan, but @wolfje, still the blame is over fans.

Tech! i hate on football, isn't necessary.
You have to make players act well, they need to be honest, referees should ask players if they are simulating, the game must to continue. .....the player lied! strong sanctions post game. ....fines, kicking him out for many games, send him to moral classes, social jobs, fines to the club, if a final match expulsion from the team and won't be part of the champion team or celebration and won't be in list of winners (uffff what a pain)
....and i'm not talking about one of those, i'm talking about apply all together at time.
...two lineman each side
...most part of the ball must to cross the line to make a play valid (no that shit that needs to cross completely).

I extended a bit, i know.
I think that happens when things really care you.
Hopefully you didn't get bored and my opinion have felt in good hears (or eyes in this case).

Greetings and take care.

Thank you for your comments. I see your points, but I think we're talking from 2 different perspectives. When I grew up football was still a 'local' thing and people didn't support any random club around the world. Yes, now it is a global thing, but it never used to be that way. Players were more loyal and that way smaller clubs also had a chance to win things, just look at which clubs used to win the old English League in the early 1900's and tell me if you recognise any of those names?

I'm not saying Qatar isn't allowed to host, I'm saying FIFA shouldn't bend their rules to make sure they fit so that Qatar can be a legitimate host, Qatar should ensure that conditions are met. On another hand, they can reschedule the matches to times more favourable for the players, weather wise, this has been waved off the table ... and what about the people dying building the stadiums over there. It is wrong that a country can host a WC that's organised by an organisation that's all about 'fairness'.

When it comes to Qatar not participating in any WC, I'm sorry but that's up to them and the quality of their 'home-grown' players. In the current system, more countries than ever will participate in the WC. Each WC there are new countries making it through the selections, this is what makes it fun. You don't hear me moan every time Holland is not making it to another EC or WC, that's reality and part of the selection process, who wants to pay anyway to watch a team that's not up to standards. The Dutch for example need to come back to the ground, realise their potential and then start stepping up to achieve their goals. I see a better chance for Chile to win the WC than Holland, just due to their perseverance and willpower to win each match.

I agree that players should harden up, where are the players with their big bellies, who had been for a night out with friends the evening before a big match. Now it's all serious and the hobby/fun factor is gone, it's a business and that's made it more serious and the effects for someone to look for a penalty are more severe. Players that abuse the system should be banned for life, Luis Suarez actually asaulting players doesn't belong on a pitch but in a kennel.

Thanks again!

I think i got your point now. I never support any team coz there's no football tradition where i come from, and the football likes me because it got into my blood.
And looks like we think the same, but as you said we have different perspectives.
Let's go see what happens in Rusia this year. It can be a bit of what will can happen in Qatar (don't you think so?)

** 2 things more:
#1 (as a complaint) Haven't been just Qatar. Remember Brasil had a lot of troubles too and nobody said anything, just the brazilians who live there. The world was to busy waiting for the beginning of WC because everybody wants to go there and nobody cares what was happening.
(Sadly also means Qatar gonna be a host even with more accidents)
#2 Middle East have now some difficulties, can you imagine the world cup get suspended for security issues. ....

Hey!
No man, banned for life for bite is exaggerated.
He already suffered enough for that and i can bet it won't happen again, if you ban properly you educate and Suarez learned.
Make that with everybody and football becomes to be "The most beautiful game" one more time.
