Steemit Winner-Takes-All Football Picks: NFL – Week 17

This is the last week of the regular season. If it’s like Week 16, it’ll be another close one for the PICKS!

Once again, the contest came down to a tiebreaker – this time between four users: @lydon.sipe, @full-measure, @bola, and @bacchist. Each user made 10 correct selections, so the tiebreaker came down to the Monday night match-up between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys beat the Lions, 42-21, giving us a total of 63 points scored. The winner was @bacchist with his chosen score of 59 points. The winning payout was 12.966 SD and 69.438 STEEM.

The payout for the Week 16 post was 15.931 SD and 138.876 STEEM. Instead of making any conversions, I simply split the liquid rewards 50/50 and added the 5 SD minimum to the payout.

There were 27 participants in Week 15, five less than the previous week! Here is the proof of payout for Week 16:

The Week 17 rewards will be split 50/50, as usual. One half of the rewards will be split with the winner and the other half will be added to a pot for playoff winnings. How those rewards will be distributed has yet to be determined.

Here’s how it all works

Every week, I post the weekly schedule from NFL.com. Please note that the tiebreaker has moved to the Sunday night game this week.

This is what you’ll need to do:

1. Click on my post, check out the week’s schedule, and use your best football knowledge to try to figure out which team will win each match-up.
2. Once you have decided on your winners for each game, simply type the names of your winning teams in the comment section.
3. Choose the winner and what you believe the point total will be for the Sunday night game. This will serve as the tie-breaker in the event of a tie (which I’m sure we will often have), so do not forget to submit your points.

Only one set of picks per user. All picks must be submitted by 11:00pm New York Time, on Saturday.

This is what I will do:

1. Once your picks and points are submitted, I will confirm all submissions after the closing time for entry into the contest. Once all picks are confirmed, they cannot be changed – so do not submit until you’re 100% sure of your choices! Any late submissions or edits to submissions after confirmation will be disqualified.
2. In the event of a tie, the person closest to the points total for the Sunday night game will be the winner. If still tied after the tie-breaker, then the payout will be split between the tying parties.
3. There is a 5 SD minimum payout each week, plus a portion of the initial author rewards from the post to be determined from week to week – so there is no cost for submission. I will transfer the 5 SD and any additional rewards to the winner(s), I will take a screenshot of the transfers, and I will announce the winner(s) and payout in the following week’s PICKS post.

That’s it. It’s simple and it’s fun. As mentioned, there’s no cost to play and you don’t even have to know a lot about football to have a chance of winning! Anything can happen from one week to the next, so enjoy it!
