Was wenger sacked or he resigned?

It has been more than a week since wenger (arsenal manger) told the world that he would be leaving arsenal fc; a club he has coached and managed for 22 seasons and won a lot of trophies with.

Although he is regarded as the best manager ever in arsenal fc, most commentators like Gary Neville, Ian Darke etc. Don't believe he can be classified as a great manager.

Two weeks ago, supersports tv on the programme premier league today said and i quote "wenger sack by arsenal". The anchors went further to say that wenger was sacked more than a week before he annaunced his resignation from arsenal but he tried to cover it by first announcing that he would leave the club.

Most fan of the club are pleased about this while very few are not pleased but one thing to agree about is that wenger deserve a big send off.

But who can fill his shoe with the likes of carlos anceloti, mikel arteta, diego simone, patrick viera, joachim low, brendan roggers etc. Being tipped to replace him.
