Luka Modric to Remain at Real Madrid

There have been rumors throughout the summer that Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric will be leaving the club, but all offers for the signing of the player have been declined.
The Croatian midfielder had been enticed by a deal from Inter Milan. The offer included a six year contract, which would comprise of an £8.9 million per year deal of four years at Inter Milan and two years at Milan's Chinese sister club Jiangsu Suning.
Real Madrid however had no intention of letting the Croatian exit the club. The club declared that the only way the player will be allowed to leave the club, was if his massive £676 million release clause was paid.
Real Madrid are said to have offered Modric an improved deal on his current contract, which will be on par with what captain Sergio Ramos is currently earning at the club. The salary increase showing how crucial the club believes the Croatian is to the overall performance of the team.
Modric was named as the the best player player in the Russian 2018 World cup, where he received the Golden Ball in recognition of his performance. Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalleti had declared publicly that he was dreaming with supporters of the club of the arrival of Luka Modric at Inter Milan.
