Crisp Fuji • Food Photography

Fuji apples are crisp & delicious and they are my favorite variety of apple. They were a hybrid created in Fujisaki, Japan in the first half of the 20th Century, hence the name Fuji.

The Fuji apple is a cross between America's Red Delicious and Virginia Ralls Genet. The Ralls Genet were actually grown by Thomas Jefferson at his home, Monticello.

The Japanese are excellent at taking American products and making them better. Compact cars and apples are just a couple of examples. Can you think of anything else?

I photographed the Fuji with my Canon 5D camera and 70-200 mm lens.
