Foodphotography | Nut-Butter

I love nut-butters, except for peanut butter. There are so many different kinds of nut-butters out there now days. The only bad thing about a lot of them is that they are pumped full of preservatives and sugar.

One day I decided to make my own cashew nut-butter. It was pretty easy!

Take about 2 cups of cashew nuts and pop them in a good blender. Blast them till they start to become creamy. You'll have to stop the blender every now and then and scrap down the sides. I also like to put a little bit of Pink Himalayan salt in mine.

I ended making little cashew nut-butter balls with mine. I added a little bit of raw cacao powder (not the same as cocoa powder) and covered a spoonful with some oats. They were so tasty and extremely healthy!

what blender are you using for your butters?

Lol! I have a Ninja blender, I would love a Vitamix, but the Ninja works.

Looks delicious.. but I have to ask.. what's the difference between cocoa powder and raw cacao? My first thought would be quality.

Great question!! Raw cacao powder is basically the un processed version of cocoa powder. It's said to have many antioxidants and loads of health benefits. It does taste more bitter than cocoa (more like dark chocolate).
