5 techniques to make a homemade almond milk



Almond milk I like it a lot, I use it very often in my recipes "without milk". His sweet taste goes everywhere. I also like rice milk for the same reasons. As I do not always have almond milk brick at home I will show you how to make your own homemade almond milk.

There are several possibilities to make homemade almond milk, I present them all in the video and I take them in the article. It's up to you to choose what suits you best and to see what ingredients you have at home (whole almonds, ground almonds, almond powder, almond puree or instant drink). You can add a touch of salt and a teaspoon of agave syrup to each taste, to enhance the taste, but it is optional. Some almond milks like Kuvings and blender are delicious.

Almond milk with Kuvings juice extractor (with whole almonds)

You need 100 g of whole almonds, soak them all night before mixing them in 800 ml of water. Caution do not use soaking water. Then start your extractor and add the almonds mixed with the water. You get a particularly smooth almond milk with a very good taste of almond. Perfect to be added to a gluten-free muesli for example!

It is a cold extraction, so all the benefits of almonds (vitamins, minerals ...) are preserved.

Almond milk with blender (with blanched almonds)

Soak one night 100 g of blanched almonds, rinse them and put them in the blender. Add 500 ml of water. Blend at full power for 1 to 2 minutes and then filter the almond residue with a fine sieve.

It is a very sweet almond milk, delicious and easy to integrate with its recipes.

Keep almond residue otherwise called almond okara . We will see next time how to keep it and what to do!

Almond milk in a saucepan (with almond powder)

Mix 100 g of almond powder and 500 ml of water in a saucepan, bring to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes. Then filter the milk. Keep the residue for another recipe.

Almond milk made from almond puree

Heat 500 ml of water and gradually mix 50 g of almond puree in hot water. Hop it's ready! It is a fast and efficient technique that gives a milk quite suitable. Care should be taken to choose a brand of almond puree that has a very fine puree without pieces. For my part I really like that of Jean Hervé .
Almond milk from instant drink

There are ready-made preparations, I'm not really a fan but it helps. I think it's not bad to make homemade hot chocolate for example. The directions for use must be followed; there are a number of doses indicated for a given volume of water. They can also be added directly in powder in recipes.
