Danggit from Cebu

in #foodblog8 years ago

Danggit is popular food from Cebu, Philippines. It's a rabbit fish that's salty sun-dried. It's mostly consumed for breakfast paired with fried rice and egg, thus danggitsilog was created. My brother just got home from his vacation in Cebu and he baought 2 packs of danggit.

Cooking danggit for newbies is tricky. YOu ahve to make sure that the oil is hot enough before dropping them off. Keep your fire in moderate and do not keep it frying for long. As much as possible 5 seconds is enough or else it will no longer be crunchy.

I fried some for myself, one or 2 of these is not enough for a mela even the bigger ones, though it's tasty this delicious tastiness will just make you crave for more rice and thus more danggit. Also it's best to dip it in vinegar with some chilli or a raw tomato, whatever you prefer.

I love this personally and will never get tired of it. :)

I'm trying to control myself and give some to my siblings.

I hope you can try this as well and when going to Cebu do not forget to buy these. :)

It would be very much appreciated if you do the same by voting him at https://steemit.com/~witnesses and then type in "steemgigs" at the first search box. If you want to give him witness voting decisions on your behalf, visit https://steemit.com/~witnesses again and type in "surpassinggoogle" in the second box as a proxy.
Also, a big thanks to @bayanihan for always supporting my posts.
