MY FAVOURITE LOCAL DISH AND HOW ITS PREPARED
Hello good evening lovely steemains. I want to share this with the world. This is a local food we eat in Ghana mostly by the Akan people. Akan people are commonly found in Kumasi (Ashanti region), Koforidua (Eastern region), Sunyani (Brong Ahafo region) and Takoradi (Western region) They have a lots of local foods Which include fufu, Banku, Abeteɛ etc.
However, the one which is obviously my favourite among all is the one I want to show the world and how its prepared. Its called ɛtɔ in our local name.
The ingredients used to prepare this favourite dish are: green plantain, ripe plantain, pepper, tilapia, salt, grinded groundnut, groundnut, palm oil and boiled egg
Its begin by boiling the green plantain and the ripe plantain together. Its takes only 20 minutes to boil it. You can put your pepper on it to boil with them at the same time. You then grind the pepper and your already roasted tilapia together in earthenware bowl. Here in Ghana it is called apotowa or asanka. Don't forget to add a little salt to it.
After grinding the pepper and the roasted tilapia, you then grind the plantains in the same earthenware bowl and mix it with the grinded pepper. Now u get your food (Ɛtɔ). To add sweetness to it, you mix the grinded groundnut with it thoroughly. Then you fry groundnuts and put them on it. You can pour palm oil into it. Its optional. The food is now ready for consumption after you boiled your egg on it.
The reason why I love this particular food is that, apart from the fact that its palatable, its also easy to prepare. It doesn't take much time unlike the other local foods.
I believe I have wet your appetite so far
