Knowing More About the Dalandan Fruit
A Citrus Fruit.
Dalandan is a citrus fruit that can be found all over the Philippines. It is also known as sour orange which is similar to other citrus fruits. The appearance of the fruit is round and it is usually colored green.
It is long believed that dalandan can cure several health issues like gas pains, nausea and fainting. It is also said that it can serve as a stimulant and appetite suppressant. The dalandan fruit is a very good source of Vitamin C and is rich in flavonoids. Its dried flowers is also used as a flavoring agent for foods.
Some studies about this fruit discussed that it has potential as an antioxidant, anti- cancer, anti aging agent, anti inflammatory and helps a lot in lowering the cholesterol in the body. It helps in lessening weight gain because of the increase in the metabolism. The aroma of the fruit can also provide a relaxing sensation.
It is also a seasonal fruit since there are certain times in the year when you can see this fruit anywhere here in abundance. And there are times too that it was very hard to find it on a small market. This fruit is also very much affordable specially if its in season already. So you will not have a problem enjoying the dalandan fruit whether you prefer to eat it or make a juice out of it. -SOC
