10$ Lobster in Mui Ne, Vietnam
Basic information:
- Lobster cost 10$
- 1 bottle of water 0.5$
- Saigon Green (Beer) 1$
To be honest, I don't eat lobster very often, but when I come upon an opportunity like this I just had to take advantage :).
It all happened in a small village just outside of Mui Ne. We're walking around this small and beautiful fishermen village admiring the different fish and crabs they just caught this morning.
We were kindly approached by local fishermen that offered us all sorts of sea food you can imagine. Our eye stopped on a big container full of salt water and fresh Lobsters. The fishermen quickly acknowledged that and offered us a "special" price. As you might think the special price wasn't very special :). The initial price was around 30$ a Lobster. Of course, we imminently started bargaining. As in most of Aisa, the rule of 1/3 of price applied here. We bargained to take three for the price of one! It took some persistence and time but it was well worth it!
He immediately took us to his beach spot, where he and his wife prepared a one of a kind Lobster. It was served with a lime and pepper sauce it was delicious! Definitely, the best meal I had in Vietnam. (And we had so real good food there ;)
At the end, we were happy and well fed as was our host who made a good profit.
