What has been my lunch today? Stewed meat!! A very popular lunch in venezuela.

Hello everyone, and if, as I indicate in the title of this post, my lunch today has been stewed meat, this is a very popular lunch in Venezuela, so much so that, in most homes, at least 1 day a week this dish is present at the tables of Venezuelan families. As simple as this dish seems, unfortunately, given the current economic situation that Venezuela is going through, many families find it very difficult to buy at least 1/2 kilogram of beef and other ingredients to prepare this recipe. But despite all this, it is still a dish that, although it may not be present for now every week, at least once a month it will be for Venezuelans. If you would encourage yourself to prepare this delicious lunch, continue reading and you will see that it is very simple to make.

For 4 people:

  • 1 kilograms of beef.
  • 1 Kilogram of rice.
  • 1 chopped onion.
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1 crushed garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons of English sauce.
  • 500 grams of potatoes
  • 1 medium paprika
  • 4 tablespoons of tomato paste.
  • 2 tablespoons of oil.
  • A little dressing (Spices) to give color.
  • A few pieces of cheese to accompany.
  • Cebollin, salt, ground black pepper.

The first thing we will do is chop all the vegetables, tomato, onion, chives, paprika and potatoes, in medium pieces.

We will take a casserole where we will cook the rice. For this we simply add the rice in the pan, add water (a little more water according to the amount of rice) and let it cook over medium heat, until the water has evaporated. After the water has evaporated, lower the heat until the minimum and cover the casserole, until the rice is at its point.

Cut the beef into medium / small pieces and season it with salt, pepper, crushed garlic, tomato, onion, chives, paprika and pour it into a pan with the oil over medium heat, sauté everything for about 3 minutes, then pour the 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, English sauce, tomato paste and continue to sauté for 5 minutes more, or until the meat is browned.

Then in a pan, we pour all the ingredients that we have frying, and apply a little more water in terms of the amount of meat and other ingredients. Pour the pieces of potatoes previously cut, cover and let cook over medium heat for 20 to 25 minutes or until you see that the sauce is already beginning to dry.

To accompany this recipe, we can cook a quantity of cassava or tapioca and serve it with the meat, or you can combine it with French fries and a bit of cheese in pieces, everything depends on your tastes.
