OGBONO SOUP (NIGERIAN DISHES)
ogbono soup, otherwiwse known as ''draw soup'' is one of the most popular soup iin Nigeria.
it is mostly eaten or swallowed with eba(garri), fufu, pounded yam, semo-vita, wheat or amala which is mostly consumed by the eastern region of the country.
OGBONO SEED
the main ingredient in preparing this soup is the ogbono seed.
it is usually blended with a blending machine.
the first stage of preparing this soup is to melt your oil and bring it down to cool after which the already blended ogbono is equally melted with the oil in the pot by stirring till it blends with the oil .
after that, its placed on the gas again to continue cooking.
some people cook it together with okra to effect the thickness of the soup while some prefer it just the way it is,
SHAKI (COW STIPE)
its a chewable part of beef that goes well with the ogbono soup. this is added to the soup immediately after the first stage together with the fish and stock fish after prior seasoning of same in a different pot.

crayfish serves as a seasoning to add taste to the soup.
it is mostly used in blended form and can be applied in the bubbling pot of ogbono soup few minutes before its ready.
it is usually accompanied by such other ingredient as, salt, seasoning cubes and pepper to bring out the taste of the soup.
ogbono soup is usually garnished differently based on individual taste. sometimes vegetable (pumkin leaf) or bitter leaf is chopped and added to the soup to add variation to its appearance while some prefer it nude without any vegetable.
after preparation, its ready to be served with any of the balls listed above.
