Amino acids are organic compounds and building blocks for proteins. Human beings require 20 different amino acids to form protein. Nine of which the body cannot produce on its own, and has to consume food that contains it. The 9 amino acids are known as essential amino acids. A complete protein is a source of protein that contains an adequate amount of all 9 essential amino acids, in about equal proportions to meet the dietary needs of humans.

All meat contains complete protein. But from non-meat source food, there are only 6 types of plants and 2 types algae which can provide complete protein. Soya bean is one of six plants source of complete protein.

Only a small amount soya beans grown is consumed directly as human food, in the form of tempeh, miso, natto, soya sauce, tofu etc. Tempeh, with the least amount of processes, all the nutritional value of soya beans is thus preserved. Fermentation enhances this goodness and also make it easy for the body to absorb the nutrients.
