3 Milks Cake - Peruvian Style

Hello dear readers today I will share with you a delicious cake , 3 milks , in Peru we prepare this dish in special occasions such as a birthday or any kind of anniversary, I really like this care, it is full of flavor and it its the perfect dessert for a family reunion best part is that even if you fail on the cake you can get away with it. This cake needs to rest on your fridge for at least 24 hour or so, it might look like a lot but it is worth waiting.

Some tools/Ingredients I used , will be at the bottom of the post

3 Milks | Servings: 13 x 9 inch Pan (About 9 Servings)

Ingredients :

Cake :

  • 3 Cups of pastry flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup of caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
    3 Milks
  • 1 Can of evaporated milk (about 400 ml)
  • 1 Can of Condensed Milk (about 350 gr)
  • 2 Cups of Milk
  • 3 Cloves
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Whip cream to garnish

Steps :

  • For the cake sift all your dry ingredients, beat your egg whites until you get soft pics

  • Then mix yolks with dry ingredients, once its integrated softly incorporate the eggwhites

  • Transfer your cake to a 13 x 9 Inch tray and bake it for 25 - 30 min at 350 F / 180 C, once its cooked let it cool.

  • Lets work on the milk , in a pot at low temperature add all your ingredients, let it them infuse, stir constantly until it is about to boil , then turn off the stove and let it get chill for at least 20 min. you do not want to burn your milks so stir constantly.

  • Once our cake and milks rested , we have to make some holes on the cake with a toothpick after that we pour 1/3 of the milk, let the cake absorb all the milk and then you pour a little bit more until the cake absorbs all of the milk.

  • Finish this cake with some whip cream on top.

That is it guys , a delicious 3 milk cake recipe you can prepare for your loved ones or for yourself , This is one of those desserts that makes you want to eat more than one slice, many people add some Rum or Whiskey to this dessert , I tried both versions , I like both so you is up to you , give it a try you wont regret it.
