What kind of stew it is? Veg stew or non veg stew? I mostly like chicken stew..:D
I'm sure there are meats that have been hunted during the day. A broth flavored with spices collected in the forest and vegetables from the garden. The best thing: we won't be worried about the gas going off! If the fire goes out, we will go for more firewood. Bon appétit!
Surely that stew will have an aged taste (medieval, haha!). It looks substantial. It has to allow to recover the forces for the next just or crusade.
