Previously we had a trip to Tokyo. Once we arrived Tokyo, we couldn’t wait to go Tsukiji Outer Market, where is famous for sushi and sasimi. Daiwa Sushi and Sushi Dai, are the most popular restaurants in the area. We finally went for Sushi Dai due to it’s relatively stable quality.

早前到东京旅行,一到埗便到筑地市场一尝新鲜的寿司。网评热推筑地市场内两间寿司店-大和寿司以及寿司大。我们最后选去店铺虽小但水平较佳和稳定的寿司大。

To be honest, we have never been in a queue for more than 3 hours in Hong Kong, let alone on a raining day. But it’s all worth it after we tried the sushi inside.
在雨中排队超过三小时,坦白说在香港都从未试过,但尝过之后是很值得的。

We order a set (JPY$ 4000) with 12 pieces of sushi. The first 11 were recommended by the chef and the last one could be ordered on our own. All the sushi were really delicious. Of course, quality ingredients are the most important reason, but also the prefect skills of sushi chef. Most sushi was served with no soy sauce or wasabi so we could have the original tastes of ingredients. To my surprise, kinmedal and surf clam were so yummy. kinmedal was so soft and sweet. And surf clam was so fresh that it was even moving when being served.
我们选了4000yen,共12件寿司的套餐。头11件寿司都是由师傅推介,最后一件寿司则为自选。每件寿司都十分味美,每日用新鲜的食料固然是主因,而师傅的功力也居功不少,大多寿司都不需要另沾豉油或wasabi,便可直接放入口中。要数其中最惊喜的是金目鲷和北寄贝寿司。平日在香港较少吃到金目鲷寿司,放进口中感觉肉质柔且鲜甜。而北寄贝寿司在放上枱时,还是在动呢!

Apart from delicious sushi, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was really good. 3 sushi chefs served total 12 seats. The chef could speak a little bit Cantonese and English. He was friendly and humorous.
除了寿司味美外,小店内的用膳气氛也很具人情味。店内只有12张座位,由3位师傅制作寿司。一入内,师傅就跟我们谈话,为我们制作寿司的师傅更略懂英文和简单广东话。师傅也十分友善和幽默,有问必答之余也跟我们聊天呢!

In conclusion, the overall experience was excellent. The sushi set was relatively cheap but of good quality. One remark was waiting for so long to go inside.
总结,这次在寿司大的用膳经验十分好。寿司的质素高之余,价钱也便宜,但无奈的是需要排很久的长龙才能入内。

P.s. walking by the bookstore, we found that Sushi Dai ranked top of popular restaurant in Japanese magazines!
逛过书店,发现寿司大在日本的杂志也位列筑地市场内人气餐厅第一呢!
