28 day ago I was making my own Cherry liqueur with vodka as my base instead of 96% spiritus not knowing how it would turn out.

Today was the day to open up the jar with cherry's to see and taste my efforts.

Here I separated the cherry's and liqueur with a strainer and had to taste a few of them :)

The aroma was defiantly there and it looked as it should, hurrraaay

Next was to see the alcohol content with a Hydrometer!

But this was a total facepalm moment

Trying to figure out why it's not working, I gave @cycling-goldfish a call to see if he can shed some light, and after explaining my problem I realized that I have sugar in the liqueur and the consistency is totally different and won't work!

I think the alcohol content is anywhere between 15 and 20% judging by the taste which makes this a mild but very enjoyable drink to have, cool or room temp!

Next year I'll be prepared with spiritus and will do both versions to be more versatile, as one will be a shoot glass drink and the other would be a casual drink.

Good work sir!

It's really good actually, not as sweet as last batch!

oh, chemistry class 😉
looks delicious

What class :]?
Cheers!

Sweet cherry liqueur. Looks awesome! Those cherries must have a nice kick to them, even at 15%.

They are great to stick them in a cake or just nibble on them, either way they are not wasted :)
