A "staple" food is something that one eats frequently, although "staple" is an odd name for it, definitely! A "comfort food" is one that makes us feel good, especially when sad or lonely, or sick, because it reminds us of something pleasant, perhaps something we enjoyed in our childhood. One of the most common "comfort foods" in the US is "Macaroni & Cheese," a pasta dish that has a cheese sauce on it. If I lived where you do, I think Stroopwafel might be a good "comfort food" 😋
