Hi There Steemians :)
The boys and I had a fun time together, doing dry meal-prepping, using beans and grains, to stock up in our pantry.
Meal prepping is always fun especially when my laziness greets me (which is quite often hahaha) and I am having a hard time to decide what to cook for dinner (mostly, since for lunch, there is often only just me on school and work days). I would just grab one of the jar and cook from there, you know.
Usually I would do it myself, but since it's Summer break, boys at home, they always want to help this and that, thinking whatever I do is fun, in the sense that am playing with my food lol So they want to "help".
We prepared 10 jars of soup and stew mixes using whatever beans and grains I had in the drawer and we came up with these following mixes.
I say EASY as I do not like too much time spent in the kitchen, so with any of these mixes, you can just add broth, dry or fresh mushroom, bouillon cube of your choice, water or coconut milk or nut milk, fresh veggies, dry or fresh herbs of your choice, protein of your choice, and that's it. Then you can just adjust the seasoning, like garlic powder and black pepper and whatnot, you know.
Yesterday was cold here, only about +17 C, rained most of the day, so we used one of them jar and made this following stew that my 5 year old really liked. So winning, I'd say :)
Now, before you continue reading, I have to mention that I have an Instant Pot. This magical pot (hahah) allows you to cook your beans even without soaking them first, so that's a plus for me, and it makes it easier when you feel like bean soup, no need to soak them for hours, just rinse them, drop them into the pot with whatever you wish, click soup and that's it!
To prepare all these mixes, I listed what I used bellow the picture :) Per jar is good for at least 9 c of soup, while for stew about 5 c. This will be depending on the broth/water/milk and fresh veggies and whatnot.

Those soup and stew mixes in the jars look incredible, even they aren't in the soup yet)
Awesome these are like amazing tasty versions of Pot Noodle in the UK. That’s really not giving your beans creations enough credit - but they are kind of similar. Loving the variety of beans and pulses you use - I’m sure these are super tasty !COFFEEA

It looks nice to keep on a shelf. Sadly I don't have a magic pot so I cannot do anything but beans unless I want to sorting after which isn't my idea of a pleasant afternoon.

you dont have to sort them out. just prep meal the dry beans, while the dry veggies etc can be added later.
empty the beans into a pot, rinse and soak, then cook ;-)
but also, get an instant pot, its Canadian :D
Mmmmm... beans and pasta go SO well together. I have loved the pairing since I was a very young child. But I love beans with other things, and of course, just beans alone. "The magical fruit!" :)
my husband is crazy on bean soup and stew. the Hungarian consume them a lot. thanks to living in Hungary tho, to date, I gag to lentils. ate too much while living there hahaha
Ok why didnt i thinking that!so you just put it in a jar and trow it in a pan and add water and you Have soup?? I only know it for cake and breakfast ingredients. So gonna try this
