Restaurant Review: Gen Korean BBQ Henderson Nevada
Jamie and I have some very silly banter in this video! Jamie is his normal goofy self that we all know and love! Normally I transcribe my videos, but, the goofiness just won't translate well, so, I will spare you!! However, I will go into detail about this restaurant.
At Korean BBQ's, you cook the food at your table. What I like about this is it's an experience, not just a restaurant. To me what makes restaurants different is the experience you get when you go to the restaurant.
I'm a bit of a foodie, and well, Jamie is not. He just likes food, any food. I'm super picky!! To the point that many times, I have an entire reject pile on my plate. I've done this since I was very little. For instance, I just don't like to eat the chicken skin. To me, it is just so gross!! LOL! Plus, I was a vegetarian for a really long time, so, from time to time, something just strikes me as.... yuk!
This restaurant was no different. Jamie absolutely loved it! I found the chicken to be a bit weird, and I couldn't eat it. Not sure if maybe I over cooked it, or maybe it was a thigh, and I usually eat the breast meat. So, just not sure what happened there, but, I did not care for it at all. Also, they offered shrimp, but, it came with the heads on it. Too much work, plus, I don't like it staring back at me! LOL! And, it's just lazy on the part of the kitchen!!
The beef was great! And so were the veggies! Jamie absolutely loved the calamari. He said it was super fresh, and not rubbery at all. I would recommend going there for lunch rather than dinner. The dinner is $21.95, and the lunch is $16.95. There wasn't anything on the dinner menu that was that much better than the lunch menu. And their sauces and designer salts were awesome!!
The other thing I really like about most korean bbq's is that they are fairly healthy! Fresh ingredients with salads and bold flavors.
