Trying to Cook Egg for the first time - COOKING NOVICE ALERT, lol

in #food7 years ago

Hello Steemit friends,

I tried cooking egg today evening for the first time and had a bad but funny experience, lol. Just the very moment i thought i will make my egg perfect, i burnt it because the stove was too high and i did not think that seconds of extra heat can burn the egg :(

Here is the one i burnt :(

This mixture is of three eggs, see initially when it was on stove it looked perfect, i thought it is cooking and i have to dry the whole thing up and then flip the side but when i flipped it was already burnt, i should have flipped earlier.

Learned my lesson and one last egg went perfect but yeah i had mixed feelings. and i wasted my eggs and onions in the first one. i do not like wasting food at all, i am sure no one does.

then because i cooked it all myself and just could not waste it, i adjusted eating the fine portion, haha, maybe they say, when you cook with your own hands, your mind will never agree to the fact its bad food, same happened in my case and i had to eat it for my happiness, selecting the still unburnt part and putting it in a brown bread.

What i learnt is that, that the gas stove has to be kept on sim or low to let the egg cooking take all the time it want and it should me done slow.

These pictures have been taken with my Redmi 3s prime phone camera.

Though i am not too good with cooking but i am learning and i am sure, i will be all good soon on this portion of skill. Its been a good day quite far. :)

Put a little oil in the pan and it will help with the egg. Also ive found using those special nonstick pans works wonders when trying to cook eggs

Oh thanks for the great tip, i missed the proper oiling too :(

Slight oiling of Pan will let you increase the Working time without burning the egg and also proper and regular flipping of egg will allow you to have a good n all over cooked egg. Seeing you have added some fillings as well you need more oil accordingly othervise the egg burns coz all oil is soaked up and you end up with charcoaled egg. But making mistakes just means you are doing something new. While doing anything new, there are no failures just trials till you master it.
P.S. Tomorrow i will blog about a recipe called "Kufta" in Kashmiri made from minced meat. I hope you would love it provided you are non-veg.

Yeah i messed up the oiling part i must say and the filling thing, did not think of it till now, must agree vegetables need extra oiling,
Yeah will keep on trying cooking stuff now,

I am waiting for kufta's recipe because i do eat non veg ;)

That looks terrible to eat. You might want to invest in some cooking classes for beginners that are worse than you.

Hahaha, ok, i an trying to improve

One tip or technique at a time and I'm sure you will get much better.

WHAT?
You have never cooked eggs before? That almost doesn't even seem possible. I would think maybe you were some princess living in a tower, but since you blog on Steemit for a few dollars that can't be the case haha

I appreciate you were honest enough to share this story and photos. Learning to cook delicious and healthy food is a very wise investment for your quality of life. Give it a go!

Well, that can be the case, if she is a princess who wants to earn her own money, without living off of her parents' riches. :) @thatindianlady, great effort, albeit a bit burnt!

yea well a few cents of a post sure aint gonna provide any princess life.

Thanks @knowledge1 , but no princess thing though ;)

Hehe @quinneaker , i was so much into studies and fashion that never gave time to cooking,

No princess thing, lol :D

But learning it now, as i live out of the city now and face food problem sometimes :)

Live and learn!
