What's for Dinner?! ~ Skillet Ground Beef and Beans ~ YUM!
I make this ground beef and beans quite often because it is simple, one pot, quick and good. There are so many variations in how you can make it. You can make this easy ground beef and beans recipe using the vegetables and seasonings of your liking.
Make it your own!
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound ground beef
1 diced small onion
2 stalks diced celery
1/2 cup diced bell pepper
2 diced plum tomatoes (I needed to use)
1 - 40oz can Great Northern beans - drained
1/2 to 1 cup water
1/2 cup sour cream
salt and black pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. oregano
Brown ground beef until no longer pink and you may need to drain off the excess fat. Add onions, bell pepper, celery, tomatoes, salt and black pepper. Cook and stir for 2-3 minutes.
Add beans, water, garlic powder and oregano. Stir, bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 20 minutes.
Turn off heat. Add sour cream and stir to combine.
Serve over rice or noodles OR eat as is. I served over rice with a sprinkle of parsley.
Sometimes I add a bag of frozen veggies to bulk it up.
Sometimes I add a can of cream of mushroom or chicken to make more of a creamy gravy.
You can add the seasonings of your choice.
There are so many ways to make this recipe your own.
Hope I gave you some ideas for dinner. Enjoy.

Bring some over now !!! So hungry but can't actually be bothered to cook as it's so hot here !
Yes, I feel you. Hot and humid here in Pennsylvania. We just put in our air conditioners last week. I have no idea why we waited so long.
I love the addition of sour cream to this dish. It looks really tasty.
Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Thanks for tuning in @globalfoodbook Yes, the sour cream really adds a nice tang and creamy touch. Thanks again.
