Easy & Healthy Chinese Egg Foo Young Recipe
This is another Chinese classic....egg foo young. This is an any time of the day chinese meal. I love the flavors, textures and crunch of the veggies and that gravy brings it all together. A classic comforting Chinese meal.
Easy & Healthy Chinese Egg Foo Young Recipe ~ Chinese Cooking
INGREDIENTS:
6 eggs
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1/4 tsp. white pepper
1 cup diced mushrooms
1 cup bean sprouts
4 garden onions - whites and greens
1 tbsp. chives
1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
1 minced clove garlic - optional
*Mix above ingredients in a bowl. Place a tbsp. oil in pan and add 1/2 cup of mixture. Cook each side for 1-2 minutes.
SAUCE:
1 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp. light soy sauce
1 tbsp. oyster sauce
dash white pepper - optional
slurry - 1 1/2 tbsp starch and equal water
*Mix above ingredients together in sauce pan except slurry. Bring mixture to a simmer. Add slurry to thicken.

This is so simple and practical to make. I dont think I have ever had it but the ingredients are nice and I know it must be delicious by the list. I have something new to experiment with now. :D
