Cinnamon Bun Apple Pie ~ EASY Pie Crust Using Cinnamon Rolls!
This Cinnamon Roll Apple pie is an easy and delicious apple pie recipe using cinnamon rolls / cinnamon buns. A nice change and alternative to using pie crust. Love all the cinnamon, the texture of the cinnamon rolls and then the cream cheese icing on top. You will enjoy this apple pie recipe. VIDEO RECIPE below.
How To Make Cinnamon Bun Apple Pie ~ Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
2 cans cinnamon rolls - total 16 cinnamon rolls
5-7 Granny Smith apples - peeled and sliced
*can put in some cold water with 2 tbsp. lemon juice to
prevent browning
1/2 cup sugar
1-2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice - optional
4-5 grates of nutmeg - optional
2 tbsp. flour
flour for rolling
buttered pie dish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Bake covered with foil for 30 minutues.
Uncover, turn 180 degrees and bake for 20-30 minutes.
Let cool to room temperature.
Decorate with packaged cream cheese icing.
Enjoy.

Great idea! Never thought of using cinnamon buns.
