A Salad Kids Will Actually Eat! Culinary delight for pre-Thanksgiving Dinner
Most kids don't like healthy food. Some of this may be due to overexposure to toxic, sugary foods, being compelled to eat vegetables not prepared right, or just unfamiliarity with the food itself. I have concocted a salad that is quasi-healthy that my daughter loves and even requests on a regular basis. I have shared the recipe below:
Ingredients:
Mixed Greens
1/2 a cup of walnuts
Soft Bacon Bit pieces
Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
Texas Toast Crutons
Honey Mustard Dressing
Note that cutting the mixed greens into chopped, medium sized pieces is key to palatability. IN addition, making the salad with your child allows them to feel like part of the process, and ownership of the meal (minus the cutting part). Adding the walnuts adds extra texture throughout, and beneficial nutrition. Enjoy!
