Ultrasound; A Novel Technique for Food Preservation (Part 2)

Ultrasound are basically sound waves that are used for the preservation of Food. EVERYTHING of food is preserved by this method like texture, flavor, nutrients. Ultrasound is a novel technique. As i discussed earlier novel techniques are developed for the purpose of food preservation with no or very less harm to food and its nutrients.

Most of us have only heard about ultrasound for diagnostic purposes. But this is a very beneficial technique for food preservation. Ultrasound have four groups divided on the basis of frequency power of waves. Those classes are:

Infrared Ultrasound Waves 0-20 Hz; These are used for the purpose of measuring Earth Quake.
Human Acoustic/ Bearing Ultrasound Waves 20 Hz- 20 KHz; These waves are the sound waves that we humans can hear.

Power Ultrasound Waves 20 KHz- 2 MHz; These waves are the sound waves that are used for the purpose of food preservation. Range of wave for different food and different process will be different.
Diagnostic Ultrasound Waves 2 MHz- 10 MHz; These waves are the sound waves that are used for the purpose of diagnostic of human body.
