HOMEMADE DOUGHNUT RECIPE
These home made doughnuts in some parts of Croatia are like a traditional Christmas thing, however many "mums and grandmums" make them every now and then for kids on the weekends.
All the recipes are pretty much the same, traditionally they were filled with jam, now we fill them with Nutella!
The same recipe, but in a MINI size has also become popular, like a bite sized doughnut, kids love these.
Sometimes we put a chocolate glazing on them, basically some dark cooking chocolate, melted down and mixed with a table spoon of butter and a teaspoon of cooking oil (for the shine). Dip them in half way and let them cool down..... if the kids don't eat them first!
Here is a link to a recipe I found on the internet, it is an original recipe, so there is no need for me to add anything to it.

I do recommend that you try these, they are much tastier than the generic type of doughnut, not as fluffy the next day, but much richer in flavor and much more filling.
I find that it is not that easy to find a lot of the recipes in English that are "traditional" recipes, yet there are people from all over the world here in Australia, so it surprises me that they haven't got together and made a joint cookbook internet site.
Food is the best way to share cultures and bring out the best in all people, everyone in happier when full and content.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
