Family Working All Together + Recipe For Big Lunch!
Dear Diary,
Today my son @chrismiller got busy around the house and my daughters helped too. We fixed some chairs and he took down the Christmas lights off the roof.
My daughters helped and made a mess, nothing new, they did a good job of making their little brothers wheelbarrow into a "boys colour" and not the "girl colour it was"
My mother was busy too, she was in charge of making lunch for all of us and I told her to call one of the girls to take a photo at every step of the way. So this is a real family post, everyone had a job during the day and we all did a lot today.
I will go through my mothers recipe here, she told me everything in Croatian and I translated it.
Pork Schnitzels With Spinach
Ingredients:
12 pieces of pork
Note: you can make them yourselves like I did, cut them out of one piece of meat or buy them ready cut. Usually it is cheaper to buy a piece of meat and cut them yourself.
3 eggs
flour
salt
pepper
Vegeta
ground red paprika
can of beer
cooking oil
One packet of spinach, half a kg.
oil
flour
200ml milk
Schnitzels
Step 1
Make your schnitzels if you have a piece of meat, then once done, place on a chopping block and cover them with wrapping foil or a freezer bag and beat them up.
Step 2
Put your schnitzels into a bowl and pour your can of beer into it, add one small teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of vegeta and a pinch of pepper.
Make sure all the pieces have been mixed with the above ingredients.
Let it sit like this for an hour to an hour and a half.
Step 3
In a separate bowl beat the eggs,
Step 4
Grab a tray and put flour on it, add one tablespoon of Vegeta and one table spoon of ground paprika.
Mix it up.
Step 5
Now you have a tray with the flour and herbs, and you have a bowl with the eggs.
First cover the meat with the flour and herb mix and then dip into the eggs.
After which you place into a hot frypan with cooking oil in it.
Keep frying and flipping over until nice golden colour.
Spinach
Heat up a bit of oil in a small cooking pot, approximately 4 to 5 tablespoons of oil, til it is hot,
(you can use a stronger flame if you like, but a medium to high flame on the stove is good)
then mix in 2 tablespoons of flour, and stir fry in the pot, until it turns a light brown colour,
then add your 500 grams (1/2 kg) of spinach and stir fry, and as stirring add 200ml of milk,
let it cook and make sure to mix/stir as needed, because the flour will start to form little chunks if it is not stirn. Do this up to the point where it becomes nice and even and thickens up. Approximately 15 minutes.
Served with a home made chicken soup as an entree and lunch was served!
We ate it all today, everyone was working and we had a good appetite!

He is not very active here on Steemit, me and Jack are trying to get him more involved but he always says that he is too tired and does not have time to write. This is true sometimes because he works all day, now he is on holidays and he has no excuse and I still have to be pushy to get him to write something on his blog. Today he did and i fixed his English, before he was fixing mine, now I fix his a little! Steemit has helped me a lot in fixing my English and google translate helps sometimes too.
Thank you for reading.
Oh, my God, it looks delicious. Thanks for sharing it with us your son must be lucky for a family like you. :)
Thank you.
