Did you get it right?

Cornick is a fried or roasted corn kernels. Of course you're wondering why is it called cornick. Well, I don't know. 😆 But aside from cornick they also call this snack "Chichacorn" which is a combination of the words chicharon and corn. Chicharon is a fried pork rind. They probably called it chichacorn because it's fried like chicharon and it sounds fancy and interesting at the same time. But let's use 'cornick' for this post.

Cornick is a favorite in the Philippines. They are eaten as snacks at home, school, cinema, etc. It is also a good pair with beer. (According to people.) It's a favorite because aside from its taste, it is cheap and the serving is plenty so it is a perfect food for killing time and keeping conversations longer. Haha.

I've also seen videos of foreigners trying Filipino snacks and a favorite on their list is cornick. So far, majority of them likes it.

The cornick I ate was the classic garlic flavor. It is also available in other flavors like spicy, cheese, adobo, etc.

This one which I bought is the most popular cornick brand but I was trying to recall another popular brand before this brand came out in the market. I like that one better. Anyway, this one still tastes great. Another popular cornick are the ones made from the province of Ilocos Sur. If you visit Vigan City make sure to buy some. 🙂

Sort:

I was wrong, I thought they were made of chickpeas (garbanzos). The garlic flavor sounds good! So does cheese 🧀

Now that you said it, I think you're right. It looks similar with garbanzos. 😆 Yes, the garlic flavor is the best.
