Halo Halo - Dessert from the Philippines
This beautiful dessert is Halo Halo. Halo means mix. So it makes perfect sense, because it is a very strange mix of fruits, vegetables, milk and ice.
The purple thing on the top is Ube ice cream. Ube is a purple yam. It is really popular in the Philippines, they even have Ube flavored donuts in Dunkin Donuts .
The second layer is just ice and under the ice it is full of condensed milk and evaporated milk. Under the ice there are layered vegetables or fruits. And this is the strange part, they mix these:
Sweet corn
Banana
Coconut
Green and red Jelly!!
Sweet red and white beans!!
Mango
I really loved the Ube part, but the Halo Halo was too much for me! :) It was really sweet and strange. When you taste corn and banana or beans and mango at the same time it is priceless...
Kukorica banánnal, mangó babbal? Egyenes út egy kiadós hascsikaráshoz (a többit inkább nem taglalom :))) Én kihagynám a kukoricát és a babot, no meg a tejet is, de a többi jöhet!
Nagyon lelkesen kezdtem el enni, de annyira fura kombináció, hogy végül ott kellett hagynom a felét... :) Ezt a kukoricát és a babot nem értem, a többi tök finom lett volna.
Nagyon jól néz ki. A neve meg egész vicces. A tetején a lila fagyinak milyen íze van?
Kellemesen édes. Az a lila az Ube, ami olyasmi, mint a cékla csak édesebb.
Ezt én is teszteltem, hasonló tapasztalatokkal. A doriant ettél? A szállodába sem engedték be olyan szaga van. :-)
Nem. De el tudom képzelni milyen lehetett! Az íze legalább jó? :)
