Where to eat in Craiova
If you happen to stay or pass through Craiova (medium sized city in the south west of Romania, good place to stop on the path to the Danube Gorges at Orșova) I can recommend the local Ramada hotel and especially its restaurant.
Unexpectedly exquisite food. I didn't plan a post so I only started taking pictures at the desserts.
The little "balls" are a typical Romanian sweet called "papanași" (served with cream and blueberry jam).
The next one is called "Cooked icecream" (there's delicious chocolate icecream inside) and the third is an excellent "chocolate fondant" served with walnuts-vanilla icecream.
We had a local rose wine (it's summer) called "Caloian" which is surprisingly good. Prices are "western" though (not "romanian") but they are amply justified by the quality.

Thanks. I did enjoy but I admit I should have been more frugal ! Wanted to taste them all ... unsurprisingly my stomach protested a bit afterwards ... :D
