Interesting facts about chip bag

Have you eaten chip yet? I have been addicted to it since childhood. Do you have any questions about why the chip bag is inflating but inside is full of air? Are manufacturers cheating on us? Oh no! Actually empty space in there is very useful. 

It may look like they’re filled with air…but the bag is actually packed with nitrogen gas.

This makes nitrogen an excellent preserver. It keeps the chips crispy it also extends their shelf life. Plus, nitrogen gas is odorless and tasteless. So, that chip tastes as if it was just made.  

But why not regular air? 

Oxygen in the air reacts with compounds in the chip and makes them go stale. That’s why chips start to get stale after opening the bag. While you probably shouldn’t eat an entire bag after opening, it is the best way to get the most flavor for your bite. So, when your child asks about this, are you confident enough to answer them?
