Friday Food Waste Pickup #8 Christmas ham, 50kg Salt, Salami, Pickled Capers [2018.03.02]
This time we joined forces with the guys at Cykelköket Göteborg (Bike Kitchen Gothenburg) to collect the food waste. Once in a while they will rescue discarded and abandoned bicycles from landlords around the city, using the rented large truck we rescued over 40 bikes and over 100 kilo of food waste.
The food was delivered to the fridges at Vegagatan and Gamlestan.
Every Friday at Vegagatan after the food rescue we cook dinner, made of food waste of course and share with anyone one who like to join us.
Some of the rescued foods:
- about 40 jars of pickled Capers
- 14 x large Christmas ham
- 8 x Italian Salami
- 4 x large bags sausage
- 50 kilo of salt
- 24 boxes of Basmati rice
- 10 kilo Mozzarella cheese
- about 20 boxes of corn flakes
- and much more

The aim of this post here on Steemit is to document the amount of food waste we can reduce by simply collaborating around a very basic concept, and hopefully inspire others to do the same. Just Eat It!
