Mission: Rescue food from ending up as waste
On last fridays food waste pickup, we collected and distributed foods like, mix of vegetables, eco tomato sauce, candy, oat flakes, lots of bread and large boxes with frozen yeast bread dough. The food was delivered by three cars to Bike Kitchen Gamlestan (Cykelköket Gamlestan), Bike Kitchen Vegagaten and Fixoteket Majorna.

The aim of this post here on Steemit is to document the amount of food waste we can reduce by simply collaborating around a very basic concept, and hopefully inspire others to do the same. Just Eat It!

Please tell me, how you get this things? You walk in a local grocery store and ask?
I don’t like it when people throw food away. Thats why i like food and do a food blog. :-)
Yes, thats how our cooperations with several stores started.
We ask people working in supermarkets what they do with the food waste the generate every day, we then ask to speak to the store manager.
Once we get to talk to the manager directly, we explain about the project and the benefits they as a store can get by cooperating and donating instead of wasting the food.
In the case of food rescued in this post, its actuallyfrom a food waste storage location where most of it goes to different charity organizations, we rescue only the left overs. So its food waste of food waste.
