Eating in Melbourne: Shira Nui Japanese restaurant
Shira Nui is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Melbourne. Their omakase dinners are pricey but a must try for those who love fresh sushi with a creative twist. Shira Nui's lunch specials are much more affordable (20 to 22 dollars for a lunch set) and worth the price you pay. The sashimi is very fresh and it comes with three kinds of fish: salmon, tuna and kingfish. The chawan mushi (steamed egg) is very smooth and has pieces of eel in it. The pickles are classic Japanese and the cold noodles have a fragrant seasame flavour. My friend ordered the nigiri lunch special and she said it was delicious.
The restaurant has two lunch sessions, one at 12 noon and the other at 1 pm. It is very popular so booking a table is a must.
