Weekend trip to Kolkata (India), city of Joy.. Its all about food & Fun

Me and my friend Romma had a morning air asia flight from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata @9.30. It was a 45 min flight. .We both didn't take our breakfast..were very hungry. .As soon as we landed , we rushed to a south indian restaurant inside the arrival point called Idli.com..
(Idli.com is a good place to have some decent south indian vegetarian snacks)
We had mysore masala Dosa

From there we booked a cab (uber & ola are easily available) to camac street, my friend had booked a guest house there for us.
(Camac street is very close to Park street,one of the happening place of kolkata)

We reached the guest house and after keeping our luggage. .we rushed to new market, where we had some work .
( new market is a busy wholesale market of kolkata)
In between work we got time to have some quick lunch. We discovered a place called Scoop,Eat & Run.
(Scoope is a quick service restaurant in middle of new market,they serve chinese and continental)
Food was tasty and quick. We had a grilled chicken and a grilled fish with ice tea.

We finished our work and got back to guest house by 6. Kolkata is famous for its street food..we planned to order egg chicken roll from the street. It was heavenly tasty..An egg chicken roll will cost u around 40 rupee.

While taking rest in the evening, we started searching for some good options online for dinner. We found out about Monkey Bar and it was just opposite to our guest house.
(Monkey Bar is a well known chain of restaurants/ pub present across all the metro cities of India)
situated on the top floor, having glass walls gives you a nice view. Super ambience, Good music...thats what we look for a Friday evening.. It was fully packed, we managed to get a place for us.
we had couple of mojitos and a chicken starter. For main course, we ordered a thai green curry & rice combo. Food was ok, but the music and the place makes your evening for sure. A Must visit .

Before sleeping we decided to visit Territy Bazaar in the morning for breakfast.
(At territy Bazzar, breakfast starts around 5.30 in the morning and gets over by 8 AM.This is the place, where you will find Chinese Indian nationals selling homemade Chinese breakfast)

Unfortunately we got up late and missed going there. We had our breakfast at the guest house.

In this trip i had planned to visit Sing Cheug ..
(Sing Cheung is the oldest manufacturer of authentic Chinese sauces in India....

I took a cab and reached the place. As soon as i entered the place i was amazed to see the products and they all are very reasonable too . Being a food lover and a chef, i was spoilt for choices.

After spending more than an hour, i came back to the guest house and from there we headed to forum mall for some shopping.
In between shopping, we decided to have some quick bites in the food court. we had some Indian chat, momos and ice cream.

It was a Saturday night, we had plans to hit a club around mid night. So we decided to take rest at the guest house and order some food from Arsalan.
(Arsalan is a old and famous food joint in kolkata having lots of branches across kolkata . They are famous for their Biryani)

We ordered some chicken malai kabab, Chicken Biryani,Chicken Rezala & butter nan. Trust me it was mouth watering, delicious and super yummy :)

After an amazing dinner , we got ready and went to Tantra club.
(Tantra is a famous night Club of kolkata . This club is a part of The Park Hotel. Safe for girls, Good Music, Good crowd)

Party goes till 4.30 in the morning.

Now comes the final day of our trip. We Got up very late. We had a lunch meeting at Quest Mall.
We went to Chilli's Grill & Bar ( well known Tex Mex restaurant across the globe)
The manager suggested some of their must try from the menu. We had Non Veg ultimate Dipper (Appetizer) and for main course he suggested us Roasted red pepper chicken fajita & Blackendfish :)
The final meal of our Kolkata trip was yummy.

We came back , packed our bags, and headed towards airport.We had a flight to catch at 8 pm.

Kolkata , city of Joy, City with a soul. I am in love with this place, with the culture and the food.

Must eat and must visit Places in Kolkata for food :)
*street food like rolls, puchkas, momos,luchi-aludom,Ghugni,Muglai parathas,Jhal muri etc etc
*Territy Bazzar for morning Chinese breakfast
*Chinese restaurants run by Chinese at tangra kolkata
*petercat,Flury's , Arsalan, AAheli & Oh calcutta( for bengali food) etc etc.
