What are these fees? Oplatky are the most delicious wafers I have ever eaten. The Czechs consider them to be their national pride. Why do they have a slightly weird name for waffles? The associations with tents or scapula immediately come to mind. In fact, the word "payment" came from the Czech "poplatek" - which means a fee.

In 1854, Barbara Nassler, a German by birth, begins to actively engage in cooking, in particular, baking golden wafers. It was Barbara who began to grease the bills with different fillings. In those distant times, the filling was only 3 kinds: from walnut, almond and vanilla. Many came to the Czech Republic and took with them these delicious waffles. The glory of them flew around the world. Even as a gift to the Prussian king, they decided to send one batch of these wonderful remunerations.

And after 13 years the Barbara family opened its own company and began to produce waffles on an industrial scale. Today you can bring this national delicacy to your friends as a presentation from the Czech Republic. The choice of toppings is huge, and the size can be picked up by anyone to your taste.

Producers of payment assured that they baked water from Karlovy Vary mineral springs, therefore, accordingly, they can be produced only in the Czech Republic. The production of waffles has been repeatedly challenged by Germany and Austria, but only the Czech Republic managed to defend its right to manufacture these wafers. To date, the EU has recognized the payment of Czech national delicacy.

The dress consists of two thin round wafers, 15-20 cm in diameter, interconnected by a filling. On each payment the emblem of the factory is beaten out, looks very beautiful.

You can choose the filling to taste: there are from cocoa, lemon, with the addition of cinnamon, apples, tiramisu, chocolate, even egg liqueur, or coconut, there are even toppings with a head. I really liked the almond flavor. There are also stuffings with strawberries and a banana. Sweetheads should pass by. You need a huge willpower not to go and taste this yummy. But the main condition: these wafers are eaten hot. Sell ​​them in different packages, but more often 5 pieces each. By the way, you can make a payment and multi-layer, in the form of a cake, and fillings, too, choose according to your taste. You have the right to buy one, but during our stay at the Karlovy Vary resort, I have never seen someone buy only 1 payment. Approximately goes up to 80 CZK per pack.
