FOOD ADVENTURE #6: Jun-Gen Foodhaus And Zugba-Zugba - Iligan City

Are you looking for the most affordable barbecue and foodhaus here in Iligan City? Are you craving for sinugbang isda (grilled fish) in the city for a very affordable price? You should visit Jun-Gen Foodhaus and Zugba-Zugba!

One of the most famous barbecue for the Filipinos is isaw (or chicken intestine) which only cost 3Php (0.06$). Paired with a puso (also called hanging rice), which is rice wrapped in young coconut leaves woven in a triangular casing and then boiled until it's cooked. Puso costs for only 3Php, and can already satisfy your hunger.

Sinugbang isda or grilled fish is a very simple dish yet tastes super delicious! For as low as 35-100 Php, you can choose from a variety of fishes and its size to be grilled and eaten. Here, you can see a grilled tilapia and bangus wrapped in foil to cook it evenly.

Filipino style barbecue is meat marinated in ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, and other spices and then grilled to perfection. You can choose from chicken leg, wings, intestines, gizzard, pork barbecue, chicken liver, hotdog, longganisa, etc for as low as 3-65 Php.

There are also a variety of fishes available! You can just choose directly and leave it to the griller to cook. The foodhaus employee will just bring your ordered fish/chicken/pork barbecue to your table when it's already cooked. Then, the employee will ask you how many rice will you order to make sure the rice is still hot and fluffy.

Here, you can see "Molmol" and "Laya" fishes (bisaya terms for the particular fishes on the picture, I would really appreciate if you can correct me if I'm wrong, hehehe).

Jun-Gen Foodhaus and Zugba-Zugba is located behind Sanitarium Hospital, Tibanga, Iligan City. Their service is really great, for just 10-15 minutes, your meals will be ready. The grilled fish and barbecue are not dry and burnt, which is why I would rate them 9 out of 10 because as of the moment, their kitchen sink does not work properly, there is no water coming out from their faucet.

The ambiance of the place is really nice. The place looks really bright and green, they also offer free beef soup which I really like to pair with rice and grilled foods.
