Rojak
Rojak is a traditional salad dish that contains various types of fruits and vegetables. Usually it is served along with lots of shrimp paste, although it may not be suitable for some people who can not resist their stingy taste. In Malaysia, there are four types of rojak, rojak fruit, Penang roe, roe sotong kangkung and Indian roe.
Fruit rojak usually contains cucumbers, pineapples, squash, bean sprouts and fried tofu. Kuah rojak also made with belacan, water, sugar, lime juice, chilli and sprinkled with peanut blended.
Rojak Penang is somewhat similar to fruit rojak, except with herbs such as guava, guava, mango and fried squid. This roasted broth is as thick as caramel.
Roast sotong kangkung is a popular food all over Malaysia and can be found in many food stalls. This rojak contains squid, spinach, cucumber, tofu, beans, chillies and sauces.
Indian rojak is also known as rooster mamak or pasembor, cultured with a concentrated nut pumpkin sweet spicy. These rojak contents include boiled potatoes, boiled eggs, bean sprouts and cucumbers. There are also Indian roasters that contain tofu, fried spinach, fried prawns or squid.
Rojak is a daily meal available at restaurants, mamak shops, food trucks and even street-side booths.
