The baking class

I and my neighbors daughter joined the baking class together. It was a 3 day workshop some 8 years ago where they taught us how to bake basic cake and brownies. My neighbors daughter was young and very interested in learning, but the moment she saw the first cake bake, her enthusiasm faded away. However, I pulled her through the course for I needed someone with me.

As her mother had predicted, she lost interest in baking and the money that her mom invested in training her seemed waste. I am not a fan of cooking, but I did bake a few cakes to prove my husband that the money didn't go waste.

Today I saw her WhatsApp status loaded with beautiful cakes with a message that said DM for homemade cakes. Now, I had moved places some 4 years ago with my husband and presently staying very far away from them. The cakes looked beautiful and delicious and since I still remember all her acquaintances, I asked her who it was baking the cakes and decorating them and she said it was her. 🙄 I couldn't believe her and thought it was some kind of a joke.

I immediately called her mother and it was true. She has taken up baking full time and makes some amazing cakes that are out of the world. She gets good orders and is making good money out of it. I wonder what triggered in her mind to take it up.
