Food Recipe: Nigerian Jolllof Rice

I was hungry and decided to try out the popular Nigerian Jolllof rice this time in a different style.

If you don't know jolllof rice as popularly referred to here, is a delicious 😋 and household recipe that is common in Nigeria.

Preparing the Nigerian Jolllof rice is very easy and doesn't take much time in fact it's one of the recipes can be cooked by most people in the country.

However the way I prepared mine is a little different from how it's normally done. This time around I mixed it with beans and used palm oil instead of vegetable oil.

How To Prepare Nigerian Jolllof Rice

Ingredients Used.

Parboiled Rice ( half cooked)
Parboiled beans ( half cooked)
Palm Oil
Onions
Salt
Tomato paste
Pepper
Spices and seasoning.

Step 1: Pour your palm oil into the pot. After its hot put your sliced onions, tomato paste and allow to fry for two to three minutes.

Step 2: Pour your halted cooked parboiled rice and beans and add some water. The water level should be the same level of the rice so as to ensure the water dries up by the time the rice and beans is cooked.

Step 3: Then pour your salt, seasoning and spices and pepper. Cover your pot and allow to cook on low to medium heat. This to ensure your jolllof rice does not burn before water dries up.

When ready you can serve your Nigerian jollof rice with the fried chicken or beef, maybe a fried plantain will do and a bottle of your favourite drink.

Groundnut oil with tomato paste is what i use for preparing my jollof rice. Anyways nice post. Will give this a try..
