Kadhi Pakora

Punjabi Kadhi Pakora

Kadhi or karhi is Pakistani and Indian dish.It consists of a thick gravy based on chickpea flour, and contains pakoras, sour yogurt is added to give it little sour taste. It is often eaten with boiled rice or roti or chapati.

Dear friends I already gave you recipe for pakoras in last blog so same pakoras we are going to add in our Punjabi kadhi.

One of my favorite dish is kadhi pakora,actually it takes time because we are cooking it on a low flame.If you really wants to enjoy Kadhi pakora just forget about the time and cook today ,you will never forget the taste of kadhi pakora.

Ingredients

½ cup Chickpea flour / Baisan
2 medium size Onions / payaza
1 tbsp Ginger garlic / adrak lehson
1 large Tomato / tamatar
5-6 green chilies / hari mirch
1 tsp red chili powder / laal mirch
Salt as per your taste / namak hasb e zaroorat
½ tsp Turmeric powder / Haldi
1 kg Yougurt / Leban 1 lit /Lasi
Coriander leave / Hara dhaniya
Water 2 litres
Dry coriander / sookha dhaniya

Method

Beat the yogurt,chickpea flour / baisan with hand beater or in the blender and keep aside.
Turn on the flame.
Take a wide pan or utensil,put 1/2 cup of cooking oil.
Add finely chopped onions and fry till the color of onion becomes light golden.
Now add grated ginger,garlic paste and chopped tomato and fry till you smell the nice aroma.
At this stage you are going to add salt,red chili powder,turmeric powder,cumin seeds,dry coriander and mix well.
Add the mixture of yogurt and gram flour and stir well.
Cook on medium flame until raw smell of gram flour and yogurt goes away.
Stir periodically in between to prevent sticking.
We need the pouring consistency it should not be very hard.If it starts sticking with the pan you can more water.
Now take 2 spoon of oil in a separate pan and add a pinch of cumin seeds,1 sliced green chili,dry coriander and fry for 2 minutes ,don't burn it.
Once kadhi is ready you can add deep fried pakoras,which we made in the previous blog.

Kadhi pakora is ready Enjoy.!
