Delicious hot snake bites
Hello, gourmet!
When we had dinner out last time with @furious-one, we tried filled jalapenos as an appetizer for the main course. Just delicious bites - creamy, crispy and sizzling hot!
As we loved those, we decided to find out how to prepare them ourselves at home.
First, we needed whole jalapenos. Unfotunately, in regular supermarkets we could only find sliced ones. With a little bit of help from Google we found that a local wholesales store had them available - in a 3 kg can! So now we have a few hundred more jalopenos left :)
So here's the recipe
Whole jalapenos
Cream cheese
Cheese (optional but adds taste)
Bacon
You need to cut jalapenos an half.
Then remove seeds and the membranes.
Fill with cream cheese
Cover with thin cheese' slices.
Wrap them in bacon and use wooden toothpicks to secure them.
Place into the oven for 20 minutes.
You are going to feel the smell of bacon-cheese-jalapenos in 5 minutes already.
When they're ready (approximately cook for 15-20 minutes until bacon is crispy), let them cool for a couple of minutes.
We made around 24 pcs ( 12 jalapenos) for the first time. It was a little bit too much as jalapenos were so hot. That's why they're called snake bites - they're damn hot! But still - burning mouths didn't stop us.
Serve with cold cider and beer or vodka.

Oh wow, great post and this looks darn delicious, I've ordered them as an appetizer as well, but they only bring a few pieces, usually ~4-5 and that's far not enough for two people. Sounds really cool tho and I think I will try them out as well.
What supermarket did you use to get the jar tho? Have also looked at a couple of store but haven't found any whole jalapenos yet only sliced..
From Kaupmees, but they have only 2,7kg cans. This is too much. Ask Furi, he can give you as we used only 12 pcs😁
