Blue cheese and black cabbage omelette
So, lately I have grown to love cooking with black cabbage. I also love omelettes. Last weekend I threw this light meal together for a breakfast for my wife and I. We enjoyed it a lot so I have decided to pop the instructions to make it on steemit. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did
First off you need your ingredients.
2 eggs
Splash of milk
Olive oil, dash of butter
A few leaves of black cabbage, chopped
As much blue cheese as you like depending on taste preference
Little bit of grated cheddar
Spring onion
Mustard of choice. I used mixed grain.
Salt and pepper to your own taste.
First off you should have your ingredients ready...
Whisk up the eggs and milk in preparation too.
You can season with salt and pepper here or put in once cooked, it's up to you.
Heat up your pan with some oil and a little butter...
Once this is melted pop in the cabbage, and onions...
After this has begun to brown drop in the mustard and mix.
Once fully mixed in, sprinkle your cheeses over the top and allow to melt a little.
Now it is time to pour over your egg and milk mix.
This done, it is just a case of keeping your eye on it and folding in as it starts to brown up nicely...
As the blue cheese is quite a potent taste, I like to garnish with tomato and Moroccan style hummus. This makes the taste more subtle when combined.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do, thanks for reading!
