Hassle Free Vegetarian Food for Camping

in #food6 years ago

While camping typically conjures images of meats roasting over an open fire for many carnivores, feeding oneself in the wilderness can present a small conundrum for vegetarians. While there are plenty of lists that feature convoluted recipes that require lots of ingredients as well as utensils, I was looking to create a roundup of uninvolved meal and snack ideas that require little to no tools. This no-hassle list will help herbivores maintain their plant-based diet while exploring and enjoying the great outdoors.

Burgers and hotdogs don’t have to be reserved for meat eaters. Plenty of vegetarian options exist, and if you are taking a cooler on your camping trip, these are an effortless addition to your menu.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are an uncomplicated staple and their three ingredients require no refrigeration or preparation, making them the perfect lunch for your camping trip.

If you have plans of packing a cooler and a grill, there’s no better time than camping to grill up some seasoned tofu and veggies. Zucchini, cauliflower, and tomatoes don’t require refrigeration and make excellent kabobs when grilled on skewers over an open flame.

Pasta Salad and Banana Nut Bread are perfect make ahead items that will keep you full on your nature adventures. Check out our banana nut bread recipe here. for the best banana nut bread you’ll ever have.

If you like to start your your day with cereal or granola (we have a great recipe here.), but can’t stand the thought of eating it without milk, pack along soymilk or almondmilk in 8 ounce singles, which don’t require refrigeration prior to opening.

Pasta and mac and cheese are easy, basic recipes that can be made in a pot over the open fire. For ease while camping, boxed mac and cheese or store bought pasta sauce are simple nonperishable options.

What’s camping without s’mores? Even vegans can enjoy this fire cooked classic, with plenty of vegan options on the market, like Dandie’s Marshmallows, Nabisco Grahams Original Crackers, and Hu Chocolate.

Don’t forget bananas, carrots, apples, and trail mix for portable snacks on your adventures.

When we go out from home sometimes we become very confused about what are the good and easy options which we carry with us. So, you provide us the good list.

Glad to be of help! Happy camping!

Magnifica oportunidad para disfrutar

I love your story and thanks for the tips when I go camping

These are great ideas! Things like trail mix, like you listed, are particularly good because they can handle most weather conditions. A friend of mine loves to climb insane mountains that are covered in snow and he brings a ton of trail mix because it is high in calories (nuts are full of fat and berries are full of carbs) and it stays good even in freezing temperatures.

I also have a question for you or maybe @xeldal, I am not sure if you would know but @xeldal's page resteems your posts quite often and I was wondering if there was a auto resteem tool like there is for auto upvotes? Just trying to learn as much as I can about various tools that are built on the Steemit platform! Thanks!

Yummm That looks so tasty. BTW great photos you have.
