Delicious Bhapa Pitha or Steam Rice Cake

Today I made Bhapa pitha. For the fist time I made it myself.

Bhapa Pitha or in English steam rice cake is a traditional pitha that is prepared and eaten mainly in the winter season. It is mainly made from rice flour and it is make by water vapour. Molasses are given to sweeten. Coconut shells are used to increase the taste. Although it is traditionally a rural dessert, it has been widely known in the Dhaka city as the food of the rural population, mainly in the late twentieth century. Nowadays, the cakes are available on the streets, and also available in restaurants.

**Preparation of Bhapa pitha is a matter of trick, because it requires a separate system to produce water vapor. For this need a ground-plate of half an inch is leaned and attach it to the face in the cooker. 20180211_165415.jpgpitha cooker

Water is applied to the stove with half of the cooker. Take a small bowl and put small portion of coconut shell and pour some rice flour then put some Molasses and again pour rice flour. Then cover it with a thin cotton handkerchief style cloth. Then put this on the cooker from where the vapour out. Keep it there about 2 min. While it prepared the molasses peeped from the white rice flour and looks so beautiful.**
