RECIPE - "Fig jam, double version with sugar and without sugar"

Hey, everybody. How are you? You know I'm not a big fan of sugar but sometimes for some things we need, I decided to make this recipe double, with sugar and without it, to see if the result would be good and so the next time without sugar directly, and I have good news. Without using sugar we can also get a rich fig jam




INGREDIENTS
  • 500 gr of figs
  • 50gr brown sugar
  • 6 diced dates
  • 1 lemon
  • 100 ml water


  • Peel the figs and divide them in two, as we will make the two types of jam.
  • Put them in a bowl and put 50ml of water in each bowl, and in one of them the brown sugar, and in the other the dates, squeeze half a lemon in each bowl and let it rest for 1 hour.
  • In a frying pan or saucepan add the mixture and when it boils, lower the heat and let it cook over medium heat for 30 minutes without stopping stirring.
  • Put our jam in a glass jar and let it cool, then put it in the fridge and let it rest overnight.
  • This recipe is ideal for children, since they can eat the jam sweetened with dates which is a type of natural sugar.
