My Delicious Venezuelan lunch (02/02/2018) #AntonEgoVenezuela2018 #04

Hi dear friends of Steemit, how are you? Hope you're well.

Continuing with the project #AntonEgoVenezuela2018, today I bring you a lunch that all Venezuelans have eaten at least once in their life. Nothing more and nothing less than the “Pabellón Criollo” or “The Venezuelan Pavilion”. For me it is a patriotic symbol, since it is one of the most representative dishes of our cuisine. Full of colors, varied flavors, the unique and warm aroma of this land.

Originally it’s made up of white rice, shred meat, black beans and fried plantain chops, all arranged in an ornamental way, emphasizing its color, aroma and flavor to the maximum. Many times it is accompanied with avocado or fried eggs, depending on the taste of each person. In this dish, a balance is created between all its components, both in color and flavor, each one is an important part of Venezuelan gastronomy.
A very interesting fact about this plate is that its four ingredients and its colors coincide with the four racial groups in which Venezuelan society was divided during the colony: rice represents whites, beans from blacks, plantain chops from Indians and meat to from the browns, called those whose race resulted from the mixture of the three previous ones (the mestizos, mulattos and zambos, for example).

Very interesting! Venezuela has history.

I hope you enjoyed reading my publication. See you soon!
